Motion Graphics & Animation

Motion earns its cost when it explains something static design cannot. A product that is hard to describe in a sentence, a process with steps, a data story with a shape — those are animation problems. A logo that spins is not.

Also called motion design, 2D animation, animated explainer, kinetic typography, After Effects animation.

How we approach motion graphics

Typical work: animated logo stings and brand idents, explainer sequences for products that need a demonstration, lower thirds and title systems, kinetic typography for social, and UI animation for app and web interfaces.

We build motion as a system rather than as one-offs where it makes sense. A defined set of transitions, type behaviours, and easing curves means your next twenty videos look related without needing a designer for each one — which is usually cheaper by the third or fourth piece.

Everything is delivered in the formats you will actually need: video files, alpha-channel versions for compositing, and Lottie for anything that has to run inside an app or website without shipping a video.

Motion Graphics questions, answered

What is the difference between motion graphics and animation?

Motion graphics animate design elements — type, logos, shapes, data — usually to explain or brand something. Character animation tells a story through performance. Most commercial work is motion graphics, and it is substantially faster and cheaper to produce than character work.

How long does a motion graphics project take?

A logo sting is a few days. A sixty-second explainer typically runs two to three weeks including scripting, storyboarding, and revisions. Ongoing title systems are slower to establish and then very fast to apply, which is the point of building them as systems.

What files do we get?

Rendered video in the resolutions and aspect ratios you need, alpha-channel versions where the piece has to sit over other footage, and Lottie JSON for anything running inside an app or website. We hand over project files on request.
