Mobile App Development

Most app projects do not fail at the coding stage. They fail because the scope was never bounded, the review process was a surprise, and there was no plan for version two. We scope for a first release that ships, then build from there.

Also called iOS development, Android development, cross-platform apps, React Native development, mobile development.

How we approach app development

We build native where the app genuinely needs it and cross-platform where it does not, and we will explain which one you are getting and why. Cross-platform saves real money on most projects; for heavy graphics, deep hardware access, or demanding background work, it costs more than it saves.

Store submission is part of the engagement. App Store and Play Store review both have rules that are easier to design around than to argue with after a rejection, and we handle the listing, the privacy declarations, and the resubmissions.

Every build ships with a maintenance path. Mobile platforms force annual SDK and OS updates whether or not you are adding features, and an app with no maintenance plan is a liability with a countdown on it.

What you get

    iOS & Android

Native builds where the app needs them

  • 02

    Cross-platform

One codebase, both stores, when it fits

  • 03

    Store submission

    Listings, privacy declarations, review handling

  • 04

    Maintenance path

OS and SDK updates planned, not improvised

App Development questions, answered

Should we build native or cross-platform?

Cross-platform — React Native or Flutter — covers the large majority of business apps at meaningfully lower cost, because one codebase serves both stores. Go native when the app leans hard on device hardware, demanding graphics, or sustained background processing. We make that call during scoping rather than defaulting to whichever is cheaper to build.

How long does it take to build an app?

A focused first release typically runs three to five months from kickoff to store approval, including a review cycle that can take days or weeks depending on the platform and the category. Apps with payments, accounts, or third-party integrations sit at the longer end.

What happens after the app launches?

Apple and Google both require periodic updates to stay listed, independent of any new features you want. We agree a maintenance arrangement before launch so the app does not quietly rot after handover — this is the single most common failure mode for outsourced apps.
